Thumbs up Hello from Kansas City, MO

After seeing W. C. Fields use a straight razor in one of his films, I've always been interested but didn't think anybody used them any more. Lo and behold, several weeks ago while aimlessly wandering the Internet, I came across SRP and started reading. In today's mail, I received a copy of Lynn's DVD and placed an order for my first straight razor kit from SRD. I'm really looking forward to experiencing a straight razor shave.

    Glad I found SRP!

    P.S.

If you're not acquainted with the scene I'm talking about, here it is:

He probably doesn't have the best (or safest) shaving technique.

    Default Hello from KC . . .

    Hello, dlittleck:

I had not seen that W.C. Fields movie for years. Thank you for the clip. What a delight that was.

By the way, welcome to Straight Razor Place.

    Regards,
    Obie

You have the distinct privilege of living in the state that is destined to become the new Mecca of straight razor shaving.
First, Lynn Abrams, the Grand Poobah of straight razors, has recently relocated to Missouri. As the founder of SRP (this forum), he is the source for all things straight razors.
Second, in the KC area you've got Sham, whose username is Hi_Bud_GL, who knows, and CARES, more about hones than anyone on the planet.
Third, in the KC area, you've got Kelly, whose username is Nun2Sharp, who is, well, my dad would call him a "character."

There are a lot of great guys in Missouri who are on this forum. If you need help, you are in the right place. Consider yourself privileged. Most importantly, make sure that you keep an eye out for posting about the annual AWESOME MidMissouri Meetup. This is a gathering that you do not want to miss!

As a now relocated Independence, MO native, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the forum.

Like many before me have noted, there are some great folks on here. I've gotten a chance to share a bit with Kelly (Nun2Sharp), who has been tremendously helpful, and with Sham, who lives up to his reputation of putting a wicked edge on anything you could want to put next to your face. They, and this site, offer tremendous insight into your new found hobby.

Good luck, and let us know how your shaves progress...
