Glad to hear it's a good one! I must have good instincts. That, or dumb luck.

Awesome build, btw...gorgeous razor. May have to think about doing mine at some point. For now, though, I'm just looking forward to getting it shave ready and trying it out.

I'm in Arkansas City for a couple more weeks, then Emporia for a month or so. I'll see if I can work out a time to pass through KC somewhere in there.

    Default Set up PIX

I decided to pick up a razor from holli4pirating so I can know what "shave ready" means. When the time comes, I'd like to hone that razor I got at the antique shop myself. Here's the link to some photos:

    Here's the razor:

    Side 1 of the tang:

    Side 2 of the tang:

Here's the strop with the razor:

Should I be concerned about these scratches in the strop?

    And here's everything all together:

Nepsis, are you still in Ark City, Kansas? that is only a short drive from me, and my sister lives their, she owns "Mylissa's garden" antique store on the main street.

I'm pretty constantly traveling around KS and MO...haven't been back to Ark City for awhile. I'm presently in Lawrence (where my office is), but just got back from Washington, MO, and will be off to Holcomb, KS, in another week or so for a bit. If I find myself back toward the southern end of the state, I'll keep you in mind. Still have plenty to learn about honing (among other things).

If you ever get down near Cape Girardeau, let me know and drop by.

Very nearly ended up driving from Washington to Charleston on Thursday. The visit got canceled, but if I find myself down there one of these days, it would be great to meet up.
