Thanked: 0hello
Hi There,
Wow, I'm really getting into this and I haven't even shaved with a straight yet. I saw some good comments about Gotta razors. My first one arrived in the mail today and another is on its way. I'm shopping around for hones. Are they expensive or what?! and I might make my own strop.
Thanks for having such a great forum. I'm sure I'll need lots of advice as I wade into this....
Steve

Thanked: 0Here are some pics.... there's a crack in the hinge on this one. I'll post up the other one when it arrives too. I intend to keep one and give the other to a friend I know is wanting to get into this too.

Thanked: 77Hey Steve, Welcome!
Have you checked out the Wiki yet? (also see top of page)
Lots of good advice ranging from shaving to honing to DIY.
There's also a number of posts / threads on making your own strops (use the search button for that). (I like the DIY stuff too)
Hope you enjoy the adventure,
All the best,
Michael

Thanked: 227Howdy steve, welcome to the forums.
I have two gottas, one in good working order, one in need of some restoring, what I can tell you though is, if you get that little lovely honed up it will shave amazingly.
Also if you could get that back scale replaced with another the same colour shape and material it would be good, I think the gotta scales are so simple and plain with a nice simple inlay, that the simplicity is beautiful :0
