    Default Ello! I'm new!

Hiya, call me Precise. I'm new straight razors. I am *not* new to knives and all the pretty little gadgets that go with knives. As such, I have everything but a razor!

Just picked up an old Geneva straight razor off the 'bay with a cracked handle dirt cheap. The blade looks to be in pretty good condition from the pics. When it arrives, I'll restore it with Honduran rosewood handles. I'll be sure to post some pics!

Sounds like a plan. As a knife collector myself, this will certainly be the most challenging thing you will accomplish. With knives, I would routinely hone out to 2k grit and then hit a pasted strop...and that made for some wicked knives. Didn't work as well for razors, lol. If you can figure out how to hone a razor correctly, it'll give you a WHOLE new perspective on what sharp is! These days I don't worry as much about a wicked sharp edge on my pocket knives since there's just no way for them to compete.
