Thread: Hello from Manchester / England

I'm a recent convert to straight razor shaving and have been lurking here for a little while trying to take in as many tips and bits of info as possible.

I'm well used to the feel of being shaved with an open razor ( by a barber ) but it really is a new ball game doing it to myself .. i'm getting there slowly though.

I recently bought a fantastic restored razor from Steve @ Invisible Edge over here in England and l cannot wait to master the art of using such a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

The razor is circa 1880 - 90 and looks as good today as it must have been when first used. The blade is a 5/8 dreadnought point, straight spine with swept edge.

My wife's father is originally from Stockport. We've been planning on visiting her family there for years, but have not been able to make it yet.
