Thread: Hello from Providence

Hi all,

First of all, I'd like to thank you, the information on the site was extremely useful in getting started. I'm a college student in Providence, on an impulse I bought an extremely cheap shavette and some Derby blades which I've been using with my canned goop. Well I did some research before my first shave, and have since learned what a real setup looks like, so I'll be making a purchase from whipped dog razors soon. (Although I have to say, I've been managing to get DFS on my cheeks with the current setup.) My only real question is in the soaps department. MWF, QCS, or Mama Bears?

My favorite shave cream is still Proraso Cream. You can get it on the cheap at Bed Bath and Beyond repackaged as C. O. Bigelow. When they have a special it is buy two get one free. I love the menthol tingle it gives. I also use the Proraso pre-post-shave moisturizer, and the Proraso after shave. I also have the Proraso shave soap, which I can then use to make Uber-Lather.

Any of the soaps you have mentioned are great!
