Thank you for the heads up. That was the problem. Second shave and i skipped the pre-shave again , gave the razor a good stropping and went for it. No Razor rash this time around.

    Thanx again guys

    Congrats.

The pressure thing is hard to get the hang of at first but it soon is habit. Just remember.....Light Like a Feather, Little to no Pressure

Welcome to SRP, man! Congrats on the first couple of shaves. As everyone have mentioned previously, light pressure is better. Also, angle is equally important.

Everyone here is a wealth of information and glad to help.
The more you shave the better you will get. Keep at and keep us posted.

I think you have a steel face! I gave myself a little razor burn and I was out for 3 days

    Great pic BTW.

Razorburn is often due to pressure and/or angle of attack. An aggressive blade angle against the skin, such as the one pictured in the first post, will facilitate the onset of early razorburn

Press on (not literally!) and good luck

edit: I guess it could just be the angle of the photo. at any rate, keep it comfortable!

I was trying to hone my own razors and it seemed i had them sharp enough to shave with. But i was wrong. Yesterday i brought all my razors to my old barber friend for some show and tell. He told me that i wasnt even close to having them nearly sharp enough. So he started honing all 6 of my Boker's Razors well i ran off to the LCBO (Liquor Store) for a mickey of Canadian Gold whiskey. So after a few Drinks and 6 honed razors I made my way home by bus (Was in no condition to drive) And had my First Shave with a extremely sharp Razor. WOW what a difference.

I was thinking where should i drop my 1000 post, and i figured where better than the place i put my first one. So whats changed since then? welll a fair bit. I have a ton of razor, several strops, a bunch of hones, a few brushes and soaps/creams. I have restored several razors and honed up even more.
I no longer worry about getting that bbs shave because i do get it 80% of the time, the other 20% of the time im just in a rush. I can now shave in 5mins but i dont like to, i prefer to take my time and enjoy it.
I have become a member of a very cool community of local wet shavers who like to get together every few months just to talk razors and hang out.http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...area-meet.html
