Default New Guy had first shave

Eh Guys im TrilliumLT or Colin im new to SRP. Just Got My first Razor back from getting it honed by the local barber and had my first shave tonight.
It went very well, only a nic or two. But now my face is on fire. Next time im not going to skip the shower and the pre shave.

Congratulations on your first Str8 shave.

The razor burn is probably due to using too much pressure. Be sure to use very little pressure it will help.

It will get better from here.

    Good Luck!

    Enjoy the journey.

Great pic and welcome to the club!

Your razorburn comes from using too much pressure while shaving. Let the blade do the work, no need for any pressure at all. Keep up the great work.

Thank you for the heads up. That was the problem. Second shave and i skipped the pre-shave again , gave the razor a good stropping and went for it. No Razor rash this time around.

    Thanx again guys

    Congrats.

The pressure thing is hard to get the hang of at first but it soon is habit. Just remember.....Light Like a Feather, Little to no Pressure

Welcome to SRP, man! Congrats on the first couple of shaves. As everyone have mentioned previously, light pressure is better. Also, angle is equally important.

Everyone here is a wealth of information and glad to help.
The more you shave the better you will get. Keep at and keep us posted.

I think you have a steel face! I gave myself a little razor burn and I was out for 3 days

    Great pic BTW.

Razorburn is often due to pressure and/or angle of attack. An aggressive blade angle against the skin, such as the one pictured in the first post, will facilitate the onset of early razorburn

Press on (not literally!) and good luck

edit: I guess it could just be the angle of the photo. at any rate, keep it comfortable!
