Thanked: 0WOOT WOOT! new to SRs
I became interested in SR's for the simple fact that they should rarely if ever need to be replaced. And at 24 I have already spent quite a pretty penny on Mach 4's or whatever they are called now.
So I jumped in and bought this razor:
Micarta Joseph Allen & Sons Straight Razor SHAVE READY - eBay (item 200525906653 end time Oct-07-10 17:58:07 PDT)
From what the guys on SRP chat tell me, it's not the best choice, but it's all I got.
I bought a cheap 6 dollar Shaving Set from CVS which includes a brush, a bowl, and some soap.
I am looking for a good strop so that I can maintain the SR in between shaves.
I appreciate all the time and energy that you great people put into this forum and am looking forward to becoming a SR master just like all of you!
Thanks again
Blam

Welcome to SRP!
Why did the guys in chat not like that razor?
Also to the other members why is the bevel and edge so high on some of these older razors?
I got a Filly Strop and I love it!

I am only 3 months into this I have purchase this stop and did a review on SRP as well. It is affordable and works well and at the price point it is not the end of the world if it gets nicked up while you learn.

I didn't see a link to where it can be purchased:
Here is the link to the Strop
Bid Daddy 3" Leather/Felt Strop
Is that the one?
