    Default Greetings from Albany, NY!

I have spent the last few hours reading the many, many posts here. I am very excited to have stumbled across the site and look forward to interacting with many of you on the board.

I started shaving with a straight razor after getting injured in Afghanistan in 2002. While going thru rehab it was suggested that I get a hobby and a guy I was friends with had a razor and it kinda took off from there.

I enjoy sharpening and shaving. Now a days with three kids, a wife and a dead end career, my shave time keeps me looking forward to the end of the day.

Again, I'm looking forward to more of the forum!

Welcome to the forum,Launchpad. I and a few others are from upstate NY,although I'm almost to Canada. Glad to hear that you've already been straight shaving awhile. Gotten yourself a bit past that first learning curve. It's a great shave and a fun hobby. Sorry to hear you were injured in Afghan. Active duty?

    Hello, Launchpad:

From a Vietnam veteran to an Afghanistan veteran, welcome to Straight Razor Place, and thank you for your illuminating first post. Very well written, I might add.

For many of us, wet shaving with the straight razor is not only a daily routine, but it is also a hobby. For me it is, and obviously for you. That makes the ritual even more special.

We look forward to reading more posts from you.

    Regards,
    Obie
