Straight Razor VIRGIN!
Hey All,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say what an AWESOME ally this website is for us ROOKIES. I knew nothing a few weeks ago and after doing some research and reading the great forums have just bought MY FIRST STRAIGHT!
I chose an old, but barely used Torrey 6/8 for my first razor. Also have a strop, badger brush, and all the other necessities on the way.
Again, can't say enough about the great info this website has to offer and will definitely pass it along to my buds. Also, anyone know a good place in Cbus, Ohio that sells Straight Razors and Accessories?
Looking forward to my first REAL shave,
Dustin G.

Good luck on the new endeavor six gun; sounds like a great idea! My new Torrey is supposedly "shave-ready" but from reading the forums one man's "shave-ready" razor is another man's "butter knife".
I did not buy it from SRP but did do my research and if anything may have to send it to get professionally honed. Don't wanna take the chance of dulling the blade with my lack of skills.
I have been on the lookout for a local shop around Columbus that would do the honing instead of sending my blade away to get sharpened. Prob gonna need some practice stropping as well..........

Thanks, I will have to check that place out. After buying my first razor I found it wasn't "truly shave ready". Sent my razor to Lynn and the boys at Straight Razor Designs to put an edge on er' that will hopefully split a hair on a frog's ass. Until then......stay thirsty my friends!
