    Default New guy from Belgium...

    actualy...
it's more like "new noob from Belgium"

After 2yrs of wanting to learn this skill, I finally bought my very first straight razor a week ago.
    A Dovo Bergischer lowe.
    (I admit... beginners fault...buying a fancy looking razor )

However, with all the gold plating AND being a complete nood in shaving and stropping and honing...
I bought 2 days ago a cheap vintage straight razor.
a Joseph Elliot silver steel (5/8).
    (see? I'm already learning!)

The last one should arrive tomorrow or so...
So from then on, I will start with the basics!

Wish me luck... my pharmacist ordered already a truck load of band-aid!

PS: English isn't my mother language... thus grammar faults are easily made!

Welcome to SRP, you will find the people here to be very helpful so don't be afraid to ask questions, please read our wiki it contains a lot of info to help the new wet shaver. You might consider having your blade honed by an expert, the factory edge it not usually up to the task. Anyway relax, take your time and have fun.

Welcome to SRP. Don't worry about the band aids, as long as you go slow you shouldn't have THAT much trouble!

Being from Belgian, you are lucky, maybe you can have Ardennes bring you some coticules! lol

If you ever need help, we are here to guide you!
