Thanked: 1"Hi" from the UK
Hi,
I thought I'd put a quick post together to say, "Hi" from an unusually snowy UK. I've been using DE razors for a little while but have found the temptation to try straights just too strong to resist, so last week, I bought my first straight razor and have used it six times so far.
Initially I just did my cheeks then finished off with a DE. As the week's gone by I worked out how to hold the razor to best reach the other parts of my face and, today, I've done a complete shave WTG shave with an XTG pass on my cheeks and jaws. While the result isn't as smooth as I get from my DE razors it is a very good, close shave. Much better than the first attempt last week.
I still have a long way to go but the info I'm gleaning from this site is tremendously helpful to me. Hopefully I'll be able to add something to the mix as my experience grows.
Thanks,
PBR.

Hey,
I'm kinda new to the forum also, been around for a few months. Where in the UK are you? I'm in Edinburgh at the moment with my parents and the snow is around 40-50cm, still falling right now.
Welcome anyway

Welcome from a fellow Brit! I'm down in London and we've had a pretty good load of snow overnight as well, maybe 6" or so, which is a lot for London.
It sounds like you're well on your way and enjoying the ride, which is great! Just keep at it, ask any questions you may have and make yourself at home here.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanked: 1Thanks guys.
I'm in Basingstoke but we've got off fairly lightly this year with only about 4 inches currently. Still good fun though.
Cheers,
PBR.
