Thanked: 0New Member
Hi,
Just new to this forum and I'd like to introduce myself.
Name is todies
from B.C. Canada
Just got fed up with paying over $30.00 for blade replacements and throwing them in the landfill. Also switched over to a brush and organic soap, as a lot of the ingredients in the canned soaps are listed on David Suzuki's "dirty dozen". Also minumizes more debris in the landfill.
Haven't tried my ebay razor yet as I have to have it sharpened. There seems to be a lack of knowledge in our area on how to sharpen a razor.
Looks like I'll have to send it out.

Hope your eBay razor is a good one. There is a lot of junk out there that cannot be used to shave.
You have a pic? If it is not usable, this site is good for people that will help you out without hurting your pocket.
The steel is what is important. There are some inexpensive razors that are good, and some that are only good for the garbage bin. First one I bought was the latter, and soon tossed it in the garbage.
Good thing you found this place. Good bunch of guys and great place to learn!!!!
Ditto on gssixgun! Great guy! He's given me much great advice!
Enjoy!!

Thanked: 0Newbie & shaving
Thanks for the advise and offer of help. Unfortunatley I'm in the Okanagan valley and it's about a 6 to 8 hour drive to hook up for a shave and sharpen lesson. I bought 2 razors one a Diamond aristrocate and a JA Henckles 50. Both look to be in good shape but are both need sharpening, as neither one will pass the drop thru hair test I saw on Utube.
There is a sharpening service nearby that sharpens scissors etc on a stone wheel but I'm reluctant to use it. I guesss I'll have to send them out.
