Thread: New Guy in MD

Hi Everyone,

First off, thank you all for the great information! My first straight razor arrived last weekend along with brush, strop, soap, etc. Your posts, the wiki and all your experiences have been a huge help as I slowly make the transition from electric to straight razor shaving. Can't wait to bury that ridiculous cool skin, aka goo-spitting robot. Also glad to see some fellow pipe smokers on the site.

I've been starting slow, just a little bit at a time as the wiki suggests, finding myself looking forward to shaving for the first time ever. Only one nick after a week and getting better at stropping and making lather. Unfortunately I'm on travel for work and decided not to bring the straight on this trip (yet another reason to want to go home...other than gf and dog of course). Any tips on traveling with straight razors?

Thanks again for the guidance for all us newbies. The shave of the day pics are great too...some beautiful hardware to lust after.
