Thanked: 0Greetings from Finland
Hi!
I registered on july this year but didn't have time to look into what I should buy until now. Christmas is coming soon and I promised myself this year that I will get myself a quality straight razor to replace my electric shaver. The quality of shaving is just bad with the electric shaver especially in the areas under my chin and on my neck because my beard is growing parallel to my skin there. Secondly it's getting expensive to shave with it because the cleansing casettes containing the fluid to cleanse the shaver is costly. A pack containing 3 casettes costs about 25 euros, that's roughly 33 US dollars. And I need to buy a new pack every two to three months and if I would shave as often as i want to, then once a month.
I read the beginner's guide from the wiki and I have a list of things to buy, but i'm uncertain on where to buy and may need some advice on whether the items I put on my shopping list are good and so on. So is it ok if I make a new thread with relevant questions on those matters to the beginners section?
See you around.

Tervetuloa joukkoon,
Nice to see more fellow countrymen here. This is the right place whatever you want to know about straight razors and wet shaving.
Classifieds is probably the best place to look for a shave ready razors. Every now and then i have several razors listed on the local internet auction as well. I will be glad to help you whatever you want to know. Finnish, English or Swedish.
regards,
