Thanked: 0New to Straight Razors
Greetings,
I just started using a straight razor. I have been considering it for a few years after a fellow NCO talked with about it. My wonderful wife got me the gear this year for Christmas. I have a lot to learn and I am looking forward to what others have to offer.me Any tips would be welcome.

Welcome, skiman! Best advice I could give you would be to spend some quality time in the Wiki section and ready the stickies. Pay particular attention to the beginner section, obviously. If wifey got the gear for you, be careful of the quality and shave readiness of the razor before you even think about touching steel to skin. Best of Luck!

Flyman,
My wife is an accountant. She is very used to doing research. She knew of my desire to get into straight razor shaving and did her homework. All is well with my gear. Pre-honed and all. I thank you for your concern and I don't mean to be rude here, so please do not not take it that way. I have used my straight razor a few times and I am reminded of when I first started shaving sooooooo long ago. I have cut myself once but that is because is touched my face with the razor ever so llightly! My fault, not the equipment.

Welcome to SRP. Wonderful wife you have there. Read my sig line below to avoid nicks and cuts and check out the SRP Wiki like flyman recommended.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
