Thanked: 1263Welcome to SRP. May I suggest that if you've never shaved with a straight that you send at least one out to be honed proffessionally..that way you can judge your own honing as well as having a good one to shave with

Welcome to SRP!
You will find plenty of information and support here as you start to use your hones and razors.
I agree with the Catrentshaving that you should have at least one razor professionally honed. This will remove a critical variable as you learn to shave with a straight and it will provide a baseline for your own honing.

New Member . . .
Hello, Vanguard:
Welcome to Straight Razor Place.
I, too, agree with our good friend Catrentshaving that you should send out at least one razor to be honed professionally. It will give you a basis of what to expect.
Also, initially you will need to devote the bigger focus on honing your skill in shaving with the straight razor. There is plenty of time to hone. Right now shaving skill matters most. Good luck.
Regards,
Obie
