    Hello and welcome. As for your first shaves, it sounds similar to almost everyones here. As long as your stropping technique is decent..if not, you may have dulled the razor. And focus on your blade angle..makes a huge difference. No worries, it gets better with time and practice

    Welcome! glad to see another from PDX. Im also new on here.
    Is your razor shave ready? im assuming it is. Im also new at shaving but I found that face prepping really helped. and get the blade angle right, also forget about the old ways of pressure shaving as with a disposable. just get a comfortable steady grip on the straight and glide it down your face holding the angle. I usually go one round WITH the grain and lather up again and clean up against the grain. not sure if this is good advice but it works for me SO FAR lol. Im still learning myself
