Greetings
Hello Straight Razor Place. I’ve been reading the forums here for a couple of weeks now and thought it would be nice to become a member to make the most of my recent fascination with straight razors. Over the last couple months I’ve made a quick transition from modern shaving to wet shaving with an old DE razor I got in college 15 years ago to taking baby steps with a straight razor. Yes, life is good.
I’m from Upstate NY but have been living in Western Japan for over nine of the last 15 years and probably won’t be going anywhere else soon. I’m looking forward to improving my proficiency with straight razors and making your acquaintance.

I don't know, man, you might get in trouble with the wife if you spend too much time around here.

At this point she's happy that I've given up on the 120cm Nature Aquarium I wanted to put where the piano is and that she hasn't smelled pipe smoke recently. "Straight razors, they're small right?".

Yea, I've already gotten a taste of the wanting more than I can use thing thanks to Mr. Musashi (JimR), my neighborhood dealer. I’m most likely already suffering from the collection syndrome. I’ve already started looking around for ingredients to make shaving soap and every barber shop I see here is a lot harder to walk by now without popping in to see what they’ve got in hopes they will say they don’t need it anymore.
In short, my wife has no idea of things to come.
Thank you all for the kind welcoming!
