My Grandfather who was born about twenty years after the Civil War told me a story when I was a young boy about a man in the community who beat his wife and children.
It seems there was this fraternal organization whose members like to wear white clothing and ride around at night.
These men paid a visit to the man who abused his family, drug him out of his house, tied him to a tree in his front yard and whipped him, gave him an axe and held guns on him while he cut the tree down and then gave him a shovel and made him dig a hole and bury the tree.
Changed the Dude's attitude big time!
While I don't condone this type of behavior, I have some friends who are Auburn fans who would probably make an exception in this case.
I hate to say it, but, "War Eagle".
