As Robin puts it I am of the gentlefolk of the fairer sex. I am a barber, I have been for 13 years, I am only 27 years old, you do the math!! I love my job but have recently had to master a new skill, one of using a straight razor. I am a true romantic so I feel it almost a disloyalty to use disposable razors on costumers. In the UK there are not as many rules and regulations on the subject as there is in th US, but that being said I would like to do a proper job, so I am finding out as much as I can before I even attempt to use a real straight blade on anyone. (You may laugh but I do practice on my legs so I know what it feels like.
) Anyway, thats me. its nice to be here and I hope to use this site to the full.

Welcome Sara. I'm sure you will find all the info you will need. I know that I have. Ther is a ladies section that you may find helpful. I would think practicing on your legs would be a good thing. Also try using a balloon, inflate it, cover it with lather and shave it off without popping it. Again welcome...........JR
