Default Hello from the other side of the Atlantic!

    Hello everybody!

Let's introduce myself, I'll do it simple:
I'm French, I live in Paris and I've discovered 2 weeks ago that some "mad" people were still using cut throat razor to shave themselves! I said to myself: Are they some kind of masochists?

But then I started reading forums like SRP and a French one (Coupe Chou Club: Coupe-Chou Club)... And I read about pleasure, about taking care, about natural and fine objects, etc.

Now I'm enjoying a pure badger and some great shaving soap. I have already ordered a paddle and a fantastic restored straight razor (an old english T.R Cadman "Bengall")...

I can't wait trying my first "True" shaving even if I'm a bit worried, not really scared but... Well!

First off, welcome aboard! I think you will find that many, if not most of your fears about using a straight razor are pretty unfounded. You may not get outstanding shaves at first, there is a bit of a learning curve to be conquered at first, but once you figure out what you're doing, the shaves become consistently wonderful and you'll wonder why it took you so long to shave properly (at least this is how it worked out for me.)

As you've probably already figured out, SRP provides a wealth of information on all things straight razor related. If you don't see a wiki dedicated to the subject, the folks here are always eager to help (we're a jolly bunch of enablers .) and most of all, Have Fun!
The older I get, the better I was

Thanks to you for the welcome, one "hello" is better than one "good bye"

I did not receive my razor yet and I'm getting more and more impatient

I'll make it two hellos. Welcome to SRP and the straight shave world.
Lots of good folks on here, so if you have questions, ask away.
