Hi I am Lee -
I have joined as I have found in my dads shed what I thought was a knife - He just recently passed away 5 months after my mom -
I have o do a clean out and its very difficult - however I have come across some items I want to keep -
As I looked more carefully I saw it was an old razor-
But no idea the date and if its been modified - as I can fine none like it excpt for the blade.
Its a Joseph Elliot.. anyone fialry familiar with this brand?

Hi Lee,
Greetings from another newbie.
According to the information here, it could be from one of two makers, probably the second:
ELLIOT, JOSEPH
Sheffield
Trademark: C reversed and C, with cross between
1821-1854 ("More Old Razors" by Lummus. Antiques, May 1927 p.372-374)
JOSEPH ELLIOTT (ELIOT) & SONS
Hollis Croft, Sheffield
ca. 1795 to present

Thanked: 1371Welcome to SRP!
As mentioned, pictures of the razor would help in identifying it.
