    Default Salutations!

Oi! My name is Samyaza--I'm a shipworker from Florida. Growing up, I used my grandfather's straight razor (a J.R Torrey) for my legs, but it's now in a case as a family heirloom. After years of expensive cartridge razors and skin problems (ingrown hairs--always, follicitis, very sensitive, dry, etc.) I've decided to make the switch to DE razors. I'm not sure where to start, but I'm sure that by poking around I'll glean some information. c:

Welcome to the forum. There is lots of information here that you will find useful. There are threads in the ladies corner about good razors for the ladies and a whole subforum dedicated to DE users. I use both DE's and straights and have a few JR Torrey blades myself. They are some of my favorite razors

Allow me to add my welcome as well. As Carrie herself says, there is lots of information in the forums here at SRP that ought to assist you in your transition to DE razor shaving.

The members are quite helpful as well. If you have any questions, simply post them and it won't be long before a member or several members respond with answers/suggestions for making your shaving experience a worthwhile one.

    Take care--and smooth shaving.
