Hi from Central Oregon
I'd just like to thank everyone that contributes to these forums. I have learned so much just trolling through old threads. I'm very excited to start learning the art of straight razor shaving and straight razor place has been an extraordinary resource for me. Other newbies ask awesome questions that are answered so clearly and completely by experienced members. I haven't had to create any threads to ask questions, so I figured I'd start this one just to thank everyone for contributing to this site and for being so patient with people who are just starting out.
Thanks again!
Bryan

I'll definitely second those thoughts. Every time I think I come up with a good question, it always seems to be answered in another thread!

I appreciate the invite. I think I'll be in Washington elk hunting around then so I'll definitely try to incorporate Spokane into my trip. Also, I just got done watching your honing tutorials on youtube, they are great! I'm really exited to get my razor (it should be here in a week or so, I just bought it from the classifieds) and start learning the not so finer details, followed by the finer details of straight razor shaving.

Hey, Brian. Welcome.
I'm still hyperventilating over Glen's photo - that's playing hardball!
If you're unable to avoid the Portland area, you're welcome to come by, try some gear to get a feel for the different types of blades/sizes/grinds, stropping, honing, shaving.
It sounds like you'll soon be getting great shaves and loving it.
'Hope you enjoy the journey alot. The guys on these forums are just incredible in helpfulness and attitudes. Post any and all questions.

Thanks for the invite, I do find myself in Portland every once in a while. I will definitely look you up next time I get across the mountains. I'd love to pick up some tips and try different equipment. There's no better way to learn in my opinion!Last edited by bryandew; 04-06-2011 at 06:50 AM.
