Thread: Hello All, Kansas City Area

Hey everyone,

Looking to learn some new things here and work my way up to buying a straight razor. I have always been fascinated with the shaving technique, but haven't invested much time or thought into it until now. Going to get all of the accoutrements before picking up a razor. Not sure where to start but the wealth of information is sure to help.

Always looking for people in the same area. I am in the Kansas City Metro and I know there are several others around here. Glad to see some familiar faces

Hi, and welcome to SRP! For your accoutrements, check out the wiki. Basic gear is a strop and a razor, with soap, a brush and a styptic pencil covering the basics. After that, there's no end to what you might like

Thanks for the welcome. I have already been using brush/soap/bowl with a safety razor. I need to peruse the wiki a bit for the rest. Hardest part will undoubtedly be picking an actual razor. Ah well, all in good time I suppose.
