Thread: Hi from Cincinnati

Hi,

Im Brad from Ohio. I found my grandpas straight razor after he passed and I have always been interested in straight shaving but never knew what kind of razor to buy, so now I have one. I sent it to GemStarCustoms to get shave ready, so now I just need to buy some things and hopefully use it like it should be used!

Hmmmm...just a bit north of Cincinnati? For those interested, we just might be narrowing down Slartibartfast's location.

Welcome to SRP. That is a great looking razor and even better that it's a family heirloom. I too recently had Glen at gemstar restore an heirloom razor. He does fantastic work, you will not be disappointed. Be sure to read the Wiki and FAQ's before getting started straight shaving. The homework you do now will pay dividends in the end. If that is going to be your "starter" razor, pay close attention to where the square point is at all times when shaving, otherwise those things tend to have a nasty bite.
