Thanked: 4New to the forum, just came into some razors
Just joined, i have a few razors that i just got (had a membership on here a good while back, but i lost the name and password for it and for the email it was on)
anyways
here is a list of razors that i have, i got them within the last couple months
Torrey full double concave
another torrey (model unknown right now, will update when i find out_
one diamondine (broken scale on one side)
a new england manufacturing razor
and one other, it is a plum something or another (update on it whne i get home and look)
i have boxes for both torreys, the diamondine, and the plum
all blades have no nicks or chips in them, just need to be cleaned, honed and stropped, then (i would guess) should be shave ready
hopefully shouldnt be too much of a jump from my Gillete DE to the straights

Welcome back to SRP. Do yourself a favor and check out the wiki at the top of the page. You will fine it to be a great help with the switch from DE to Straight.

Thanked: 1936Glad to have you back, send them out to one of the honemiesters listed in the classified's and "dance" with them. Shaving with a straight has a learning curve, but if you have been shaving with a DE, you should have lather & shave prep down...so you will only need to learn the application of the straight. Give it 30 days & you will never go back...

Thanked: 4lather took me a while, have it now though, hopefully the straights will come easy enough to me, as i use my other blades a lot, so i am familiar with blades of many sorts.
I dont know if it will help, but i hope it will
i want to be able to do all honing and stropping sooner or later.Last edited by crazyengineer; 04-12-2011 at 11:49 PM.

Thanked: 1936The stropping is something you will have to learn right off...the honing is something that you can pick up along the way after you have the basics of shaving & stropping.
