    Default Geetings to everyone

just noticed I was the newest member so thought I needed to stand up and say something. Just happened upon this website and a stirred an old desire. That is to learn how to shave with a straight razor. I've had 2 old razors though I can only find one now. Figure if I could start using it I might not lose the other as well.

I'll be starting from scratch so I'll be looking for guidance in every aspect of technique and equipment. Eventually I'll probably have more than only the one razor I have now. I'm looking forward to learning and getting to know some of you (at least online. This isn't quite the hobby you get together and do like playing poker. At least I don't think so).

Well, wish me luck and thanks in advance for your help in my adventure.

Welcome to SRP! You came to the right place to learn, check out the wiki for lots of great info and also make sure to hit the video section for some detailed demonstrations, both in shaving technique and stropping, as well as many other themes. Also, this place is full of skilled and helpful people, so don't be afraid to ask questions when they arise. Be sure to let us know how it goes, we are looking forward to your posts. Best of luck.

Welcome to the forums! I am not sure where you are located there may be a meet in your area? And there are members all over who are very willing to invite you over to show off there collections and give you some hands on use of them. And plenty of advice here in the forums.

My apologies. I did forget to indicate my location, didn't I? I'm near Houston, Texas in the good ole US of A. I'd imagine there are folks on this site from all over the globe. What did we do before Internet? Haha.
