Welcome to SRP Chemist. This is a great place to learn for sure.

So what equipment did you aquire? You are starting at a great age. I wish I had started that young.

I actually haven't purchased anything yet, somewhat of a blank slate in that regard. I have been looking though, I like the Dovo blades I have seen so far, especially the Renaissance and Bismarck. Problem is I'm wondering if I should buy something less expensive to learn with....then when I have learned enough to appreciate something more expensive, upgrading. I just want to make sure I start out right, still want a good quality blade obviously.

Any Dovo product is good as long as it comes professionally sharpened. My advice would be to get one one the Dovo Best Quality wet shaving kits from Straight Razor Designs or Vintage Blades.
