    Default Hi All, A few questions?

    Nice to meet everyone, I've been curious about straight razor shaving for some time, as friends and family have recommended it as an alternative to electric and safety razor shaving to help with my sensitive skin. I've read through many of the posts and beginner guides on the site and I'd appreciate some advice on where to get ahold of a decent starting razor. Nowhere locally (Cincinnati area) seems to sell them, at least not of any brand that seems to be reputable, and particularly not on a budget. Any advice would be appreciated

    Start with the Classifieds on this site. There are plenty available, and most are shave ready.

    In addition to the great razors on the SRP Classifieds, really inexpensive razors and beginner strops can be found at Whipped Dog Straight Razor Sales. Larry is always glad to help new straight razor shavers. I bought one of my first razors from whipped dog.

    Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions as you look for a razor. You will find the members here really helpful.

    Welcome to SRP. Great advice so far for obtaining your first razor on a budget. Larry at whippeddog also sells beginner's strops, which you will need, also at a great price.
