    Default Hello from Holland!

Hi there i've been watching this forum with interest for a while now and since my straight shaving set just arrived i Thought it'd be a good time to introduce myself

My name is vincent,23 and i'm from a place near Rotterdam Zuid-Holland
my occupation is electrician and my main area (of expertise??) is residential construction

The reason is started wetshaving, and now straight razor shaving is because i, like many others kept having problems with irritation after the shave. so when my brother suggested wetshaving i thought "what the heck it can't get any worse"

So now i have been using DE razors for the last few years with enormous positive results!
and when i came across this place i was somehow intrigued by it and finally bit the bullet, i am going to use a straight razor!

I just finished up my first shave and i have to say that it really isn't all that intimidating or terribly difficult, it's just something that you have to get used to i guess.

Mind you i havent shaved xtg let alone atg yet with my straight blade but the results appear to be quite smooth indeed with just the wtg pass!!

So there it is, that's me and my first straight shave experience
(Oh by the way my first razor is a DOVO Bismark red, I love it already!!!)

Hello, and welcome to SRP! And grats on your first shave. The first is often the most dreaded one, taking a super sharp blade to your beard might sound a little scary. After the first the shave the scare is gone and you can focus better on learning the skills involved. Sounds like you are already well on your way, if you haven't already be sure to check out the wiki and our video section - there's lots of info in there. Looking forward to hear about your progress. Best of luck.

Hello vdj and welcome to SRP!

Congratulations on the first shave! My first straight shave was with a DOVO Bismarck too.

Thanks everyone for the kind welcomes!
It's also very nice to see some fellow dutchmen on this forum, just remember:
