Thanked: 0Newbie with some prior experience
Hi! I’m doclars from Chicago. This is my 2nd time trying st razor shavg. First time was early 80s and just I got good enough that the cut started disappearing and the shave started feeling good I caved out of tme and efficiency issues. Now I want to devote more serious effort to developing the skills to sustain practice. I have a Dubl Duck which I probably created serious problems through poor honing practices (this was before the internet and SRP where videos and text could say more than simple printed instructions). I also have my Dad’s old R. J. Torrey from possibly the 30s or 40s as an heirloom. I tried using both recently as I got started again and neither gave a good or comfortable shave, though the Torrey was probably better. I just got a Hart and had a good shave today, though with much need for improvement both in terms of closeness and comfort. But I’m encouraged to move forward now that I have a good razor.
