Thread: Hello people

Hi, I have never shaved using a straight razor before but I had an interest in it, so I ordered one and it arrived today! It’s a Muhle 5/8 Hollow Ground straight blade. I am still waiting for the strop, soap etc to arrive. I hope to learn a lot from this site, it looks like there is a lot more to straight razor shaving than I first thought...

Make sure that razor is sharpened by someone who knows how to get the razor shave ready.
Do you know if it is honed by a razor-honer?
If you provide some info on where you bought it, chances are we will be able to tell you if it is ok for shaving or not

I got the razor from the Executive Shaving site, is that a decent site?
I emailed them and they said the razor has already been honed but may need stropping
