    Default Hello All

My name is George Ku and I've just recently got into straight razor shaving. I've always been intrigue by the "old world" nature of straight razors but never took the plunge. Well not anymore...

I bought a Feather No-Sharpen Razor, a generic badger brush and Proraso Shave Cream. My choice for the Feather was for simplicity. I didn't want to get overly frustrated with honing and stropping while trying to get the basics of shaving down. So I took the easy way out! :-)

I hope to get pretty proficient at this and then I will look into a true straight razor setup. I'm sure I will be lurking around this forum a lot so thanks for the help, thanks for the great resource!

Welcome to the club. There is as you have probably seen a wealth of knowledge and friendly people to help you get going and up to speed. I started 4-5 weeks ago and now spend more time in the WIKI learning and gathering more knowledge every day.

Seems most people move through the shavette type razors to a traditional pretty quick, So I call 17 days till you try to grab your first traditional straight razor.

Welcome to SRP, George, we're glad to have you with us. Lurking is a great way to learn, but actual posting is even better.
In other words, don't hold back on your questions when they present themselves. I guarantee we won't bite

The people searching out info before taking the plunge are also the people with the least problems, in my experience, so I'm sure you'll do fine. Looking forward to your posts, meanwhile - have fun.
