Thanked: 0Hi everybody
Hi I'm new and look forward to getting help/advise from some of the vets. I tried out a straight like 6 years ago but I didn't stick to it. I plan on sticking with it this time. I'm tired of not getting a good shave and when I do get one it's because I paid someone. Any help on where to find everything would be appreciated.

Straight Razor Designs has a monthly special that will get you everything you need, brandy spanking new if that's your thing. They will also give you a second honing on the house, which is quite nice.

Thanked: 0I would love a new one but I'm on a very tight budget right now. In a few months I'll consider a new one but thanks for the the info.

Thanked: 275Take a look at the "beginner's Wiki" on this website. There are several articles, and they have plenty of information that will:
a) get you started, and
b) help you improve your technique so that you can give yourself a nice shave.
If your budget is tight, I think Whipped Dog Straight Razor Sales is your best bet. Larry's razors are reasonably priced, and the "Poor Man's Strop Kit" has both leather and pasted strops.
