Hello from East Tennessee
Hi all,
My name is Richard and I've just started shaving with a straight razor about 2 months ago. I am so glad I found this forum and can share and read the info from everyone. Until I found this forum, all I had to go off of was you tube videos( some of which are good). I have already gotten 9 razors and plan to collect more...very addictive. I also have gotten my honing stones and started learning how to do sharpening of my own razors. All this started from inheriting a couple of lovely straight razors from my uncle and having an interest in learning how to use them. Now I don't think I could ever go back to the cartridge type razors, and I enjoy shaving now and even get a closer shave.

Howdy Neighbor! Welcome to SRP. I live in Crossville, TN just down the road from you.
I have been shaving with a str8 for 2 1/2 years now and enjoy it very much. You are very correct when you say str8 razors are addicting, it's called RAD (Razor Acquisition Disorder).....I have 30 str8 razors in my rotation. BTW, there is no cure!
You will find some of the best folks around on this forum, guys willing to help answer all your questions. This is where I found 90% of my info on shaving with a str8 razor. I owe a lot to these guys. Now I try to give back to the new guys what I received from some of the senior when I first started. So if you need some help or have questions don't be afraid to ask, that's why we are here....to help each other.
Keep us updated on your str8 razor journey......may it be a safe and pleasant one!"If You Knew Half of What I Forgot You Would Be An Idiot" - by DoughBoy68

Thanks for the welcome...I'm from Johnson City. I have already collected 9 razors since starting shaving with str8 razors. I will try to post a pic of them. The bottom one is the one I inherited from my uncle and I use the most. It is what got me started in this.
