Thanked: 0N00b with facial hair
Not that I'm new to facial hair, but I am new to this place, haven't touched a straight blade to my face, and I have facial hair that needs attention in a manly sort of way.
My wife bought me a straight razor as her wedding gift to me. Unfortunately, she didn't have the time or facilities to do a lot of research and so after seeing some brief and positive reviews she purchase a Kreigar KG101.
Absent any other accessories the blade stayed unused for nearly 3 years now. But for Fathers' day this year she purchased me a strop, a badger-hair brush, shave soap, and C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream (I absolutely love the can of C.O. Bigelow shave cream she bought me a year or so ago).
So now I've no excuses, and frankly, I'm looking forward to getting into straight razor shaving with regularity.

Welcome to SRP
I see from other posts you've been advised re the Krieger already. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 993Welcome welcome.
You can work on your shave prep with your new brush, and grab a butter knife from your kitchen and start learning how to strop....practice your flip!

Welcome to SRP. You could use the kriegar to practice stropping too, and opening letters. Get yourself a good quality blade from one of our vendors here (Straight Razor Designs, Whippeddog.com, Classic Shave, Straight-Razors-For-Sale.com, etc.)...easy to do whether your budget's $30 or $300. Then have at it!
Be sure to post your progress and feel free to ask any questions/post any frustrations along the way.
Peace,

Before you attempt to shave with it, see if it passes the LOT, the letter opening test.
