Greetings from Georgia
I grew up in Ohio and right now I'm in Athens, GA finishing up a M.A. in Mathematics at UGA.
Thanks to all of the members here for their invaluable information and for giving me the confidence to go after a straight shave!
I'm presently putting together my shaving arsenal. I've got a professionally honed F.A. Clauberg razor with a badger brush and some Pre de Provence shave soap on the way. I can't wait to try it out and start learning a new art.

Congrats on taking the leap, and on finishing up that M.A.
If you can find someone to spend some time with getting hands on help, it'll accelerate the learning process significantly, from my experience
Cheers

That would be great...I wish my great grandfather was still around as he was a barber and an excellent shaver, from what I have heard.
I would love one too! I just have an LP 100 in sunburst but couldn't find a good pic of one, guess I should take my own.
Thank you for the warm welcome! Just did my first substantial bit of shaving this morning. I shaved my right cheek and the flat part of my neck. It came out pretty smooth and there was no blood
