    Default Hi

So after years of reading about straight razors and picking up some really junky ones, I've decided to take the leap. I've been growing a man-beard since November, and tomorrow I'll get it shaved at the barber. I bought a razor from the classified section, have a used strop (I'm vegan) from ebay, and in the next month or so, I'll begin learning to hone the blade on one of the junk ones I've picked up. I'll be moving to MA in August to attend graduate school. Hopefully this will go well.

    Welcome
Tony Miller occasionally makes vegan strops.
Good luck with taking everything to grad school, some have issues, others don't.

I've heard good things about Tony Miller's vegan strop. I don't purport to understand it, but I've heard good things about his. Also, don't know what you have planned for a brush but Omega puts out a synthetic one.

Because I'll be living off campus, I shouldn't have any problems unless my roommates feel threatened, which would be silly. As for a brush, I was given my grandfather's old brush, which is still in good shape. As for the Tony Miller strops, I'm having a hard time finding them as it seems they are out of production. Any idea where I can look for one besides hoping one pops up in the classifieds?

Just keep checking his website on occasion or try emailing him. He does still produce, just irregularly. I like his strops and he is a very nice guy.

I doubt most folks who've bought his stuff would sell it on the bay, but you might look there for one, too.
