Hi
Hello, great site you got here. I started thinking about proper wet shaving (straight edge and double edge) a few years ago when I came across an article on the internet about traditional wet shaving. I was searching for info on shaving out of frustration with the expensive and unsatisfying shave my mach 3 gave me, that an the fact I resent paying well over the odds for blades that only cost a fraction of that to make! I've gotten pretty good with a double edge and pretty good at lathering up with soap and a brush. I really want to get into using a straight razor though I am a bit wary of the initial cost for the kit an the risk of getting the wrong thing. I got a shavette last christmas which I tried to shave with cutting myself to ribbons! I keep getting drawn back though! Yesterday I tried it again following Lynn's advice on 1st shave on this site an although I went a bit further than he recommended for the 1st shave (all one side and neck) this worked better. Does anyone have any advice on where to get a proper shave ready razor from in the UK? I am on a budget and worried I might get stung by steep import fees, customs delays by ordering from US.

Welcome!
Check out the invisible edge which is run by steve dempster who's a member here.
He sells DOVO and TI blades which come shave ready.
Also have a look at Neil Millers site, strop shop.co.uk, as he sells shave ready blades and an amazing line of strops.
Places like trumpers and Penhaligons can sort you out with awesome soaps and have a look around for brushes as well. A lot of different places sell them..!
Hope that's some help and good luck!
