    Default Ice breaker...

Well, it is time for me to hit the "De-Cloak" button
Wet shaving aficionado for about couple of years, I salute You all and hope to "steel" from You guys all the knowledge that there is about shaving with the straight razors.
I just recently bought my first straight razor (I was using DE Merkur 34C HD before - and some other things before that which I do not wish to mention here ).
Some of you have seen my first razor:

    I just love it!!!
Today, I made my first shave with it (my first shave with straight razor EVER) - 3 passes (WTG + 2XTG)
It was an experience I will never forget and as someone said before: "...... I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
Well, this much from me for the time being...
Now, I'll just mingle around a bit to soak up the atmosphere, if you catch my drift...
    See you guys

Congrats, and welcome to the brotherhood!

What else does your wet-shaving equipment look like? Any specific soaps you're fond of?

I do have a couple of soaps: Col. Conk Amber, Proraso, Thiers Issard Premium Shaving Soap (Sensitive/Neutral), Palmira, Wilkinson Sword (blue bowl)... but I'm a kind of "creamy" type of man

Col. Conk Amber is what I started on! Great soap with a lovely scent!

Welcome aboard, it's about time you stopped lurking. Congratulations on what sounds like a successful first straight shave. Trust me they will get better in time. Be patient and realize once in a while you might have a set back, but don't let it discourage you-we have all been there before.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thank you for your kind words!
I will persist and I will be as headstrong as a mule if I have to be - but I will learn...
