    Default straightening it

    Hello everyone
I happened to chance upon this forum when i was browsing on ebay to buy a razor. I was amazed at the wealth of information and understood that there is a more to the art of straight shaving than i ever knew.
I am from Bangalore INDIA and my earliest memory of straight razors are from the mid 70's when i used to watch my granddad get shaved by his barber - I distinctly remember a sheffield steel razor and also a japanese razor that he set store by - I guess from the convenience of it all my dad's generation switched to disposable blades and I have used twin razors for most of my shaving time
I am terribly interested in straight shaving and started off with a shavette about 5 months ago and am getting better - but believe me i am really awaiting the real straight shave - sadly INDIA has lot its straight shaving tradition and there arent may people who will make and hone razors any longer
I am very happy to be on the forum and looking forward to getting help from the experts in acquiring a straight and perfecting my technique
