Hello From Vancouver, Canada
Hi all, I've been lurking the forums here for sometime now, joined up around last december and finally decided to post! Talk about taking my sweet time. Anyway, a little about me, I'm 26, and am from Vancouver out on Canada's west coast. I enjoy a good book, good scotch and have had a lifelong fascination with straight razors but knew very little about them until recently. The forums and wiki here have proven to be an excellent resource so far and though I've been taking my time learning and gradually aquiring my shave setup I'm still finding the whole learning experience to be very rewarding. Thanks to Lynn and everyone else here for providing all the great information on this site. Hopefully I'll be able to post a bit more regularly. Cheers!

Thanked: 275Welcome!
I'm in Richmond BC. There may be enough of us in the Vancouver area to warrant a meeting.

Thanked: 993Welcome to SRP Colin101,
This place has lots of great information...and it's great that you've already been looking at the Wiki. If there's anything I can do to help, just shoot me a PM.
A vancouver meet sounds like a great idea....invite all the boys from south of the border too....

I have to admit, a meetup in Vancouver does sound like a hell of an idea. Glad to know I'm not the only one in town who's discovered the world of straight razor shaving. By the way, if any of you guys know anyone local who can do some blade restoration and honing I'd love to know where to find them, it would be much easier than sending off my razor in the mail and across the border.

Welcome to SRP from the other Canadian Colin. You seem familiar didnt i see you on TV around the time of the final game of the Stanley Cup Play offs with a jerry can and a book of matches? Just kidding. I only wish the leafs would do well enough for us to even think of rioting.
Happy shaving
Colin

Welcome, Colin! Lots of Canadians around here, it seems. This place is great, full of very helpful people who will take a lot of the mystery and uncertainty out of straight razor shaving, at least until you're standing there with 3" of the sharpest blade in the world next to your skin. Then you're on your own
