Thread: Hello From Massachusetts!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Ali. I'm a 23 year old nurse from Massachusetts, currently pursuing an MSN/ACNP. My boyfriend avidly shaves with a straight razor, and has hinted at wanting a new one. I'd really like to get him one for his birthday or for Christmas. He currently has a 6/8 Thiers Issard with a round point, and would probably like something similar. Any advice? Thanks so much!

welcome to SRP. My, picking out a razor is like buying a new (or Used) car. There are so many great shavers to choose from ranging in price and style and manufacturer. You can choose a new razor but are limited to a few manufacturers like; Thiers Issard, Dovo, Boker, and Hart. Otherwise you would have to select a custom made razor. If you go for a vintage razor, the selection is even greater, though you have to look at the condition of the razor much like a used car. Has your boyfriend hinted at a particular razor that he would like? How much do you want to spend? Are you looking for a new or vintage razor? Some of these questions might help to limit a selection for you.
