Thread: Hello from Tennessee!

Hey guys and gals. My name is Jimmy. I live in the Nashville area of TN and work as a Paramedic. I have been using a DE safety razor for about a year and am interested in learning to art of the straight razor. I have already learned a lot from reading the beginners section and am amazed about how little I really knew about a proper shave!

Welcome to SRP. There are lots of experienced people here who are more than willing to help, but I've also found myself becoming lost in the forums and the wiki just reading. Plus there's quite a few nice videos that SRP folks have posted, everything from shaving and lathering to stropping and honing.

Many times, if a thought or question gets into my head, I'll have google search SRP only, to kind of keep out the data riff-raff and get me to the heart of the matter. For instance, if you're ever interested in shaving oil, you could type:

"shave oil" site:straightrazorplace.com

It'll search SRP only. I find that very handy.
