Newbie from Chicago
While I have been double edge shaving for almost two years, I finally ventured into straight razor shaving. This is my very first Straight Razor Shave:
Rudy Vey 2 band Finest
Moss Scuttle
1805 Shave Cream
6/8 Ern
Dr. Harris Arlington After Shave Lotion
Baxter of California Balm
1 pass. It actually went very well. Thank you Dslazar9 for your equipment and guidance!
I was nervous at first but it went away as I went along. I felt a real sense of acheivement!

Welcome! I'm new too, but it's nice to get a welcome I think. I'm not sure what any of that stuff is you used, but it all has fancy names, so it must be good stuff. My first shave was with a sample pack of bay rum soap, a CVS pharmacy brush and a Beurger's Pet. Other than that, and me adding a second WTG pass, sounds about like my first shave.

Thank you Regular Joe! I had some good help from Danny, Dslazar9. Have you also shaved with DE razors? Also, are you attending the Chicago Wet Shavers Get Together and Expo?

Nope I can' make it. Hopefully there will be something next summer. I'll get to one someday, but this one ain't in the cards for me. I have a DE razor here that I got for free, but I haven't used it yet. It's got some build up, that I haven't managed to remove yet...Actually I'm kinda stumped about it, but that's for another thread...Thanks, and have a great time!

i think i'm coming from a similar place as you, except i've only been DE shaving for several months now and can't resist the siren call of the straight. i'm in okc right now, but will be moving back to chicago in apr. good luck with your venture into straights!
