Default Greetings from behind the Zion curtain....

So I've been lurking for a bit, and finally signed up.

My name is Troy, I'm a 33 year old from Salt Lake City, Utah by way of California, and Idaho.
I'm a full time machinist, and part time firearm enthusiast looking to start instructing in the not too far away future.

I'm into classic cars, classic country, and classy women

I'm also a HUGE sports nut, Football (NFL and NCAA) is my passion, and I'm a diehard UofU fan GO UTES!!!! but I'll watch just about any competitive sporting event. I've even been known to catch the occasional women's gymnastics event GO REDROCKS!!!!!.

My only experience with straight razor shaving has been at the hand of my barber, but I have been using a brush and puck for a few years now. I decided to learn how to shave my own face with a straight because I've grown tired of buying cartridges, and paying the barber $8 is fine when I have a hot date, but who can afford that 3 times a week.

Anyway I'm glad to be here! I've already discovered a wealth of knowledge, and made a few friends , and can't wait to get my first blade and start carving up my face..

Welcome to SRP. You are in the right place for all things relating to straight razors. When you decide on your first razor, just make sure it is shave ready, it will help your start be alittle easier. Best of luck and keep us posted.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Welcome...Former Best Valley City resident. Left in '99. And may I say WOW 8 bucks for a straight razor shave from a barber, not to mention that you still have a barber that will use a straight. I know there used to be an old barber in the Sapp Brothers truck stop that would give an awesome straight shave.
