Thread: Steady from the Riverina

I came across this sight and just recently taken up straight/cut throat razor shaving after a 22 year hiatus.
My dad actually used a straight razor and taught me how to hone,strop and use straight razor.
Basically everything from scratch( no pun inteneded).
Well after buying a strarters kit from this website www.knivesaustralia.com.au
I had more nicks than a greek wedding.
2nd shave was a lot better.
Anyway look forward to being a regular.

Good to see another Aussie on board.
I couldn't find the 'Starters Kit' that you mention on the link, however you seem to have been taught well by your Dad.
You'll find lots of useful information here, particularly in the WIKI, so have a read, ask questions and, most importantly, hang on and enjoy the ride.

Very basically,edge quality, lather quality & technique can influence shave quality but you've done this before. Welcome aboard Steady.
